CLAJ Announces The Annual Darwin T. Turner Best Essay Award

 

The inaugural CLAJ Darwin T. Turner (pictured above) Best Essay Award will be given to an essay author chosen from any issue of volumes 58-60 of CLAJ.  The selection process will end March 15th, and awardees will be notified shortly thereafter.  The award will be announced and presented during the Banquet Ceremony of the April 2018 CLA Convention.

CLA at the Modern Language Association Convention

 

 

CLA Vice President Donna Akiba Sullivan Harper led the panel, "Pedagogies of Excellence: HBCUs and the PhD Pipeline" at MLA 2018. Panelists included Shanna Greene Benjamin (Grinnell), W. Miranda Freeman (Tougaloo), Jarvis McInnis (U of Notre Dame), Trimiko Melancon (Loyola U, New Orleans,) and Kenton Rambsy (U of Texas, Arlington).
