MEET ISABELLA: TKF'S JR. PROGRAMMING MANAGER
Isabella Aguilar identifies with the mission of The Kirkwood Foundation because representation matters. In her application she wrote:
It is imperative that students and young people of color see leaders in powerful positions who look like them. When a young person is exposed to people of color who have had successful careers, it inspires them to reach for greater. This is because they can envision their possibilities more clearly, and they are presented with access and guidance to achieve those aspirations. I am a firm believer that no one achieves their goals alone, there is someone somewhere who has helped successful people get to where they are. I am hopeful that I will be able to help those who come after me, as many have helped me along my path.
Isabella graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. She is currently a second year law student at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law where she serve as a staff member of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. There, she combines her passion for social justice reform, and access to higher education for low-income communities of color. She is also a member of the Latino Law Students' Association. Isabella currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.
Welcome Isabella!
