There is a lot to be excited about as we kick off the 2023-24 season in the desert. This year marks the 50th birthday of Rancho Mirage, a great reminder to celebrate the history of our unique city. The board is hard at work putting the finishing touches on our biggest event yet, we will be releasing details next month but please mark your calendar for February 3rd! I'm also pleased to announce our second Members-only event taking place next month, featuring Sean Lockyer sharing his perspective on the intersection of preservation, modern architecture in the desert, and what’s next. This event is complimentary to our INDIVIDUAL, HOUSEHOLD, and PRESERVATIONIST members, tickets are $100 for our ADVOCATE members. Please RSVP below! With February's Modernism Week just around the corner, Preservation Mirage is showcasing four incredible homes at Tamarisk Country Club. With this tour, we will need docents to assist with check-in and directing attendees on their self-guided tours throughout the homes. Become a docent and save $150 on the price of Modernism Week tickets by helping a good cause - it’s a win-win. If you’re interested in joining us as a docent, please email: events@preservationmirage.org. Preservation Mirage appreciates your continued support and I look forward to connecting at one of our events in the coming months. |

VARIATIONS TO A THEME: WILLIAM HAINES AT SUNNYLANDS The exhibition spotlights the custom-made furniture and interior décor that the legendary designer William Haines created for the extraordinary home that Walter and Leonore Annenberg constructed in the Southern California desert between 1963 and 1966. Along with the Annenbergs, a dream team of Haines, his design partner Ted Graber, architect A. Quincy Jones, and variety of renown landscape architects fashioned 200 acres of raw desert scrub into an iconic midcentury modern estate that, to this day, houses the largest extant collection of William Haines furnishings in the world. In his signature Hollywood Regency style, Haines designed and installed more than 450 pieces—cabinets, tables, consoles, chairs, lamps, etc.—for the 25,000-square-foot home. The exhibition is on view at Sunnylands Center through June 2, 2024. Admission and parking are always free. |

Thanks to your continued support, we have much more on the horizon as our membership program enters its second year. If you have any questions, please reach out to me directly. |
