Hello , welcome to this hot July update!

Today we have some Design Diary and Pledge Manager news but first, let's all feast our eyes on the Ferrectoclimber sculpt! Isn't it a cutie?

Design Diary

We talk dice today, specifically about the Aim Die!

Aim dice are used for most "damage based" attacks and determine where an attack lands.
As an abstraction for the aim targets, for both humans and monsters, we used the five body parts of the resource system:
Brain for the head, Teeth for the face, Guts as the main body/wings (guts is featured twice in the die, as it represents the biggest target!), Butt for back/tail (or literal butt) and Legs for any limb.

Hitting certain parts can trigger a special effect in an attack. For example the Pan Flogger is obviously more effective when hitting Butt.

Aim can trigger effects in the Target as well. Like you wouldn't wear two hats (I guess?), you cannot equip two armours with a defense that triggers on the same aim, you would instead work hard to cover as many vulnerable targets as possible.

This is such a simple mechanic, but there are so many things we love about it.

  • It is not too swingy, you generally know how much damage you can expect to inflict when you attack.

  • It's still exciting and epic, especially when you risk to trigger a counter-attack from a Guardian or a Wild Monster. Yes, aim can trigger counters too :)

  • It's nuanced and funny. If you use the Headbutt attack of the Horny Kabuto and hit Legs you won't be too surprised that the attack is not as effective as it could have been if hitting Teeth!

  • You can get around it (yes, we consider this a pro as well!). Shields allow you to cancel aim and block the attack in any case, if you spend the resources to activate them. Some attacks allow you to bypass physical defense completely. In the example below the Psycrossbow does not Roll Aim, nor deals damage (the little sword icon), the only way to prevent the hp loss is spending the Brain as requested.

Next time we'd like to focus on one of our playable heroes, but if you'd rather have more details on resource system and spending parts instead just let us know!

Pledge Manager

Long story short, things are going very well, better than expected :)

Many backers upgraded their pledge or bought add ons, and the neoprene mat was unlocked in no time! Thanks all!

We are still waiting for about 40% of backers to fill the survey. This means that by the time everybody is done, we'll be pretty close to unlocking the Weretesticle. If you want to help us (and the World) with this praiseworthy achievement, sharing our pre-order store or any of our links with a friend may give a nice push :)

Click on the image for our Preorder store! Share this page with all your friends, relatives, potential partners and random strangers you want to impress!

Preorders will stay open at least until the end of August but probably not much longer. We'll share the closing date as soon as it is set.

Trying to make the game more affordable for everybody, we are now allowing collection in Palermo, Milan and Brussels, and upon request we can easily arrange London and Limassol. This won't zero your shipping cost, but can shave off up to 80% in some cases (and at least 50%). Let us know if you are interested.

Next Kickstarter update is scheduled for 8th August! Be good until then :)
