The plan is for KESKUS to be under construction by February 24, 2022 – already a noteworthy date for Estonians around the world to celebrate the 104th Estonian Independence Day or “Vabariigi aastapäev”. All permits are now in place for KESKUS International Estonian Centre to commence construction in the cultural hub of downtown Toronto. Read more here, eesti keeles siin. |

Annex neighbourhood welcomes KESKUS |

KESKUS is being built in the Toronto neighbourhood known as the Annex, and the Annex Residents' Association has declared its unconditional support for KESKUS. It is heartwarming indeed to know that the Annexonians will become honorary Estonians and Estonians, their friends and families will become honorary Annexonians! Moreover, that KESKUS and the amenities it will bring to this very special part of Toronto's downtown, are awaited and welcomed. Read more here, eesti keeles siin. |

New directors join IECI board |

Three new board members, Peter Ojala, Katriina Niitsoo and Hans Kukk, each with deep experience in their respective fields, have been appointed to the International Estonian Centre Inc. (IECI) board. Read about these board members here. IECI nõukogu on tänulik Bob Spowskile kes aitas KESKUSe projekti haldavat nõukogu järjele, ning kolm uut nõukogu liiget on liitunud IECI nõukoguga, nendega saab tutvuda siin. |

Get involved and help support KESKUS KESKUS is going ahead and it needs your support: please join the growing list of capital campaign donors! Donor categories are Kalevipoja Laud for gifts of $100,000 and above (including naming rights for specific areas), Viru Vanemad for gifts of $10,000 and above, and Kungla Rahvas for gifts under $10,000. To make a donation, please email donations@estoniancentre.ca or call +1.647.250.7136. Donations may be made as a family gift, or in honour of an individual or family. Leadership gifts can be paid over time and all donations are issued a tax receipt, with country-specific receipts issued for Canada, U.S. and Estonia. |
