Now that the stress of the election has settled, we can focus on the work ahead. Fiddlehead is continuing to thrive and we have lots of news to share. We are working hard to support our young learners through all these transitions and finding joy along the way. 😊 Oona |

We are off and running. School Aligned Learning is now a comfortable routine. Kids are doing a great job working independently on school work in the morning so that we can spend the afternoons creating art and doing fun projects. We still have limited spots available for our A/B/C cohorts and have begun to offer individual tutoring in Math and Reading for extra support. Music instruction and specialty classes are also underway. Call us to register or learn more on our website. |

November Focus On Citizenship |
Our November theme at Fiddlehead is Citizenship, Choice, and Community. What does it look like for our community to thrive? Throughout the month, we will be exploring the idea of citizenship as a verb (i.e. being an active citizen), and how we can use our collective power to make our community a better place. If you have any lawn signs that are left over from the election, we will be repurposing them for a citizen project. You can drop them by - we will have a bin set up by the front door. |

Original Works Fundraiser |
We are opening up this year's fundraiser to all the families in our wider community. If anyone would like to participate by submitting your child's artwork, we can provide the order form for Original Works, where the artwork is made into lovely gifts like aprons, magnets, mugs and more. This is a wonderful way to support fiddlehead and get some one-of-a-kind holiday gifts at the same time. Email me ASAP if you'd like the details. The deadline for all artwork and orders is November 20th, so the turnaround will be quick. If your child currently attends one of our programs, we will be taking care of the artwork here and will send the order forms home with your child. |

Meet Zoe, Suzanne's dog who loves to be read to (seen to the left in the midst of a great story!) We have selected Class Action by Steven B Frank for our next group book. The story is described as: “Student activism meets screwball comedy meets the American judicial system as a boy sets out to prove—to the U.S. Supreme Court—that homework is downright unconstitutional.” |

We are so excited to partner with Caleb Johnson Design as they help us design and build an outdoor classroom on the wooded side of the building. This beautiful new space will allow us to stay safe and warm outside longer into the winter. We need to fill it with all kinds of fun learning activities for our students! Please consider a donation, visit our wishlist on Amazon, or share/participate in our Giving Tuesday campaign on Facebook. |

In the spirit of giving and active citizenship, we are organizing a winter clothes drive. Please drop off your gently worn coats, jackets, snow pants, etc. to our lobby and we will get them to Maine Needs. Adult and child sizes accepted. |
