Finding Friends in Writing - Maggie Giles

I used to think of writing as a solo journey. I was wrong. I've made more incredible friends as a writer than in any other part of my life. One of these is author Maggie Giles, whose second novel, Twisted, comes out next week. Her first, The Things We Lost, is an award-winning novel that is currently a Barnes and Noble Indie Favorite Pick.

We met at a writer's conference years ago, and since then, we have written together online for hours and read each other's work. She's helped me with social media (she's a genius), and we've shared more than a few cocktails. One of my favorite things about Maggie is she has a warm, bubbly personality, but writes about twisted murderers. She lives in Canada, and her book launch parties at a brewery in Collingwood, Ontario, sound so fun I'm determined to make it to one someday. Until then, I look forward to Twisted showing up on my Kindle next week.

Twisted: Detective Ryan Boone thought the simple jewelry heist was an open and shut case. That is until he discovers an unknown drug, and this minor crime he was investigating may be tied to a string of seemingly unconnected murders.

The Podcast Chronicles: Durango, Colorado. Sue Cleary worries she’s lost her mojo. She left the workforce as a high-powered forensic accountant to raise her four boys, and now that they're grown, the fifty-year-old fears all she has to look forward to is boredom. But when she discovers a New York developer plans to build a tacky theme park in her idyllic community, she jumps into the fray to defend her picturesque hometown.

Reviews

If you've read Tequila Midnight, and haven't reviewed it yet, I'd love it if you would. Reviews are especially important at Amazon, where an algorithm uses data like the number of reviews when readers search for novels. Reviews don't need to be long, just a quick sentence or two about what you liked (or didn't like) about the novel. Click below to get to the Amazon review site, and thank you.
