Here in the northern hemisphere, the summer holiday season is over and children are returning to school, eager to learn and continue their journey of education. We too are looking ahead to what we can achieve before the end of the year, to ensure that every child has a future to look forward to. In this edition of the Faith Plans newsletter you will find: An invitation to embrace the heart of Laudato Si' A global ecumenical prayer service to mark the start of the Season of Creation More about the origins of the Faith Plans framework and its creators: FaithInvest and the WWF Beliefs and Values programme.

This inspiring day (on Zoom), called 'Dominicans Embracing the Heart of Laudato Si’, will help us discern the signs of the times, share the gift of Laudato Si’ and respond to the invitation to restore right relationships. We invite all supporters of Laudato Si' to join us for this important conversation, held across two sessions (morning and afternoon) on Wednesday 20 September. Tickets cost US$20 for the morning session only or US$35 for the morning and afternoon session. Expert presenters and storytellers The day will be presented by three expert presenters in the area of Laudato Si' and speakers and storytellers from the Dominican family. Together they are bringing the gifts of Laudato Si' alive. Speakers include: Dr Lorna Gold, newly-appointed FaithInvest CEO (formerly Director of Movement Building) and Chair of the Laudato Si’ Movement's Board of Directors Elizabeth Garlow, Co-founder, Francesco Collaborative and Senior Fellow, New America Catherine Devitt, FaithInvest Programme Manager
Two half-day sessions to choose from: Morning session Time: 9-11.15am Chicago / 3-5.15pm London / 5-7.15 pm Nairobi Restoring Right Relationships with Laudato Si’. This session will explore how Laudato Si' offers us the wisdom to see and respond to the ecological crisis. Examples of Laudato Si' initiatives from the Dominican Family from: Sharon Zayac, OP, Dominican Sisters of Springfield Colette Kane, OP, Dominican Sisters of Cabra and Program Director, An Tairsearch, Wicklow, Ireland
Afternoon session Time: 1:30-4 pm Chicago / 7.30-10pm London / 9.30-midnight Nairobi Becoming Stewards for a More Just Economy. This session will take a deep dive into how finances and investments can be used as a force for good. Includes a storytelling session facilitated by Elizabeth Garlow with: S. Marilin Llanes, OP, Dominican Sisters of Adrian Lisa Kane, OP, Dominicans of Racine Pat Siemen, OP, Dominican Sisters of Adrian and the Dominican Climate Solutions Fund.

Where did the Faith Plans framework originate? |

The Faith Plans framework was established by FaithInvest and WWF's Beliefs and Values Programme, to help faith communities to drive positive action on the climate and the environment by using their assets, investments and influence.
