Cadbury eggs and back to bread |

Hi! Happy Easter and end of Passover (aka back to eating leavened bread). I'm coming off a super busy month where I (with the help of friends new and old, former colleagues, and family) produced a Haggadah (the book people use on Passover) in three languages and a virtual Seder for the community. I'm so grateful for the positive response, and for some more time to get back to my regular content. I'm still processing it all and working on a video to explain the whole story! If you're new to Danielle in Doodles, welcome! I've published dozens (I've stopped counting) of doodles since July about everything from dating and celebrities to politics and holidays. Sometimes, I'm in the doodles, sometimes I'm not. I publish this newsletter with the latest doodles, I'm active on social media, and sell cards. Thank you for joining! Today, we have an Easter doodle (thank you to everyone for staying tuned during the Passover content!), a video recap of last Sunday's Passover Seder event, a birthday doodle for my sister's boyfriend, and a custom doodle of an amazing Challah baker. |

When I was 14, I visited my friend, Kate, in Dallas, and stayed with her family during Easter (it was also Passover for me). It was my first time celebrating Easter, and I had a sugary blast. I also experienced the holiday celebration when I was studying abroad in Spain and accidentally in the park in Brooklyn. Here's a doodle about my Easter experiences. |

Through Etsy and my website, I had about 100 Haggadah orders from people all over the country and even in Paris, Canada, and Israel! I even hand-delivered some last-minute orders in my hometwon with my dad's help. I'm so happy my Haggadah reached so many people (you can still buy it here!). And I got great responses from people of all ages, levels of observance, and even religions. It was a hit with non-Jews, too! “We couldn’t stop laughing while reading it during Passover. It was so funny!!” “We LOVED it! So funny and creative. We look forward to next year’s version.” “This goy says, ‘Best Seder ever.'" “It was great and such a refreshing version.”
It's a lot to process everything, so I'm working on a video about what it took to create an illustrated book and event, how my family helped in some hilarious ways, and the responses! Stay tuned next week. If you bought a Haggadah, reply to this email with pictures of your Seder! I'd love to see them, and I may incorporate them into my video! You can also send them to hi@danielleindoodles.com. |

I hosted a second-night Seder last Sunday (March 28). The Haggadah I wrote guided us through, with the help of talent. FreddyG delivered hilarious standup and played Moses, Gabi Glaser gabbed and heckled all night as Bubbe, and Marni Loffman lent her beautiful voice to every prayer and song. As a post-event thank you, I doodled all the talent. |

The event was an hour and a half, so I cut it into a best-of, five-minute highlight video below! Get a taste of the comedy, storytelling, funny banter, and beautiful songs that we experienced. |

If that wasn't enough, you can see the whole Seder (Freddy's standup is at 8 minutes) here: https://youtu.be/jsFdT3IrOC8 If you attended the event and didn't do so yet, please fill out the survey here. |

I made this doodle commission about a month ago for a California-based Challah baker, @breakinbreadwithnic. I hadn't shared it in the newsletter yet, and thought tonight was perfect since those who kept Passover can eat bread again. This is one of my favorite doodles. Nicole has a beautiful challah setup, and I used colored pencils that I received as a gift from friends. |

George being George in honour of his birthday |
|
|
Today is my sister's boyfriend, George's, birthday. He's from Toronto, and is partially to blame for my sister, who went to McGill, living in Ottawa. But, I'll forgive him because he's a great guy and puts up with my crazy family, and he's a good sport. So, I present some of my favourite iconic George moments I've experienced with him or learned about him. (Yes, I used Candian spelling for him, but still used Celsius in the doodle because I'm a writer, not a mathematician.) |

If you're new, you might now know that I sell greeting cards for birthdays and bar/bat mitzvahs on Etsy (more to come soon!). And, I do commissions! |

Thank you again for all the support. I'm already thinking about my next big project ... "Quarantine Chronicles." I'll share more about that soon as we get to a much-needed holiday lull. Reply to this email with any feedback or ideas! xo Danielle (in Doodles) Brody |
