What's New . . .

Here comes Magic Mistakes - a new picture book due for release in

May 2020 with Australian author Belinda Blecher, a child & adolescent

psychologist and publisher David Reiter of Interactive Publications.

The initial launch will be in Sydney which is super exciting for me!

Especially delighted that we are collaborating closely with The Pyjama Foundation

on this project - an organisation committed to the literacy needs and

educational outcomes of children in foster care throughout Australia.

Mistakes are where the MAGIC happens . . .

Daunted.  Overwhelmed.  Petrified.
That's how many children feel when faced with the prospect of trying something new they may fail at.  Whether it's experimenting with a new food, diving into a pool or riding a bike, their frustrated parents can't get them to risk not being the best.

Meet Frankie Lane.  She is the perfect child, as long as she sticks with what she knows.
But as we join Frankie on her adventure into the unknown, we learn about the wonder
and beauty of Magic Mistakes.  We encounter an 'Oopsy Loh', the Patron Saint of Mistakes, and see how Frankie's fantastically spontaneous alter ego, Tallulah Flare, embraces trial and error.  We travel with Frankie to the brink of her fears and learn

how to face and embrace the growth opportunities they bring.

Magic Mistakes sows seeds of resilience into little people, providing an optimal foundation for them to blossom into psychologically flexible young adults.  This wonderful book teaches children (and their parents) that failure is not to be feared, as it is

where great learning happens.

Do get in quick as we have had lots of interest!

After the May launch, it will also be available in New Zealand directly from Wheelers.

'Brain Tricks' with author Rose Stanley is really gaining momentum.

Lots of primary schools and social agencies are buying the book and we have

had some super feedback, including this article by Dr. Susan Biali Haas

on international website psychology today.  Really thrilled too that the book is off soon to

the Bologna Book Fair with literary agent Frances Plumpton.

Teaching notes and activities are available FREE to download here.

It can be purchased directly from our website or check out our stockists page to see if there is one near you.  Here it is on display at the fabulous TeaPea Home in Wellington.

Another picture book is in the works.

A lovely New Zealand story for kids by a very talented kiwi author.

Can't give away too much, but here is a sneak peek of a very rough sketch from the book.
