Dear Friends of MASCP, In our last newsletter, you heard about the retaining wall in Arcatao that was damaged in recent flooding and needs immediate repair before the rainy season starts in June. This wall keeps water from flooding the lower level of the community restaurant and damaging the entire structure. Here’s the Head of the Community Council, Abél Lopez Escalante, showing us the damage telling us about the repairs, and requesting our help with paying for the materials and repair that is urgently needed: |

“ Our biggest priority is to fix the wall outside of the cafeteria. It is urgent because the rain can do a lot of damage….and things could get much worse if we don’t fix it soon. This is a really big deal for us. It will be quite expensive because costs are higher right now but there is nothing we can do about it… any money you can share will be spent on construction materials” - Abél Escalante Lopez, Head of the Arcatao Community Council, on a recent call with MASCP core group members. |

Please donate as generously as you can TODAY to help this project become a reality. MASCP is a 501(c)3 organization so your donations are fully deductible. Even more importantly, your donations will make a critical difference in everyday life in Arcatao. Thank you very much! |
