Budget and Surplus, 88th TX Legislative Session

Summary: This week in the Texas 88th Legislature, both the House and the Senate furthered their versions of the Texas State budget, and both are over $300B. "The state is expecting a record $188 billion in revenue estimated for 2024-25 biennium and $32.7 billion surplus. Both are a first in state history."

Hundreds of acres could trade between Weatherford and Willow Park ETJ

Summary: "Hundreds of acres may change hands between Weatherford and Willow Park as the cities consider an adjustment between their boundaries." Although Willow Park has yet to hear of this Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) exchange, the Weatherford City Council, during their 11 April 2023 Meeting, passed "Joint Resolution R2023-07, between the City of Weatherford and the City of Willow Park to adjust the boundary between the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the two cities."

New Child Safety Zones ordinance enforcing sex offender laws in Willow Park.

Summary: The City of Willow Park finally has an ordinance designating Child Safety Zones, in which registered sex offenders can not loiter or live. Summary: In enforcement zones around Willow Park, during the following enforcement waves, Willow Park Police will be taking a special focused enforcement for the new Click It or Ticket Program May 22 - June 4, 2023, for the new Operation Slow Down Program July 14 - July 30, 2023, and for the existing Drink.

Willow Bark is back, 15 April 2023
