Here at EPDV, we dream about the end of human trafficking. We believe that together, through prevention, intervention, and restoration, WE CAN accomplish that goal. We want to THANK ALL of our dedicated donors for your steadfast support this past year. We know that 2020 has been difficult, but let's remind ourselves of all that we have accomplished together throughout the year. Here's a brief overview of what's going on right now for each of our projects. To support us today, visit out website below or Paypal: donations@elpozodevida.org.mx |

LIVRE Our prevention team just presented a conference on human trafficking and Nadie Nace Macho (Toxic Masculinity) to faculty, staff and students at Tec de Monterrey. We are almost ready to launch our online, virtual prevention program, using the Google and WhatsApp platforms for delivery. We are also in discussions with the Department of Public Education (SEP) about incorporating our prevention program into the SEP curriculum, potentially reaching millions of grade-school children throughout Mexico about issues of human trafficking. |

HOME Continued online presence with a live chat focused on masculinity and homosexuality, and submission of a peer-reviewed article to Fight The New Drug, an organization dedication to informing individuals of the harmful effects of pornography (human trafficking, abuse and distorted self-identity.) |

Safehouse The girls have been doing a lot of creative crafting, making their own headbands, gloves, backpacks, and even designing their own Christmas decorations. Thank you to one special donor who provided a beautiful tree for the holidays! They have also been rehearsing for a Christmas performance at the safehouse on 12/3. |

SAHL+1 SAHL is currently offering culinary classes to the girls at the safehouse, opening up a great interchange between two of our projects. |

Block Party With in-person block parties still suspended due to COVID-19, we have been prepping the online version of our Justice School for 2021. Look to sign up for for new classes in the Spring! |

Transition House Amidst all the cloistered craziness of life in a pandemic, it’s great to experience some normalcy, and we just celebrated the November birthdays of two of our beneficiaries. |

Teams Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to reimagine how teams can visit El Pozo. Incoming teams have always been the lifeblood of expanding El Pozo’s reach and introducing people to the scope and magnitude of human trafficking around the world. Accordingly, we offered our first virtual tour of El Pozo with Newsong Church in Santa Ana, partially hosted by a few of the girls at the safehouse. Hopefully, virtual tours will allow us to stay in touch and connected with amazing teams and volunteers from around the world. For more information, contact: Mayela.gallegos@elpozodevida.org.mx |

Fundraising We hold annual fundraising galas in Mexico City (October) and Irvine, CA (February). This year, those galas aren’t possible in their traditional format, so we will be holding two nights of online, virtual galas on Sunday, 1/31 (in English) and Saturday 2/6 (in Spanish). Stay tuned for more info, peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities, and then spend a night supporting El Pozo and seeing friends from around the world come together to end human trafficking. |

Nunayu We just completed the last week of our November fundraising campaign, where we were able to boost the online presence of our microbusiness and raise $1750 for their new 2021 Spring Collection. In addition, Nunayu garnered 3rd place honors for a nationwide “Women of Change” competition held by Socialab Mexico, a non-profit focused on entrepreneurship and developing the next generation of web-promoted businesses. You've already convinced yourself that this is the year you're getting that holiday shopping done EARLY. So go to the NUNAYU website and make yourself proud. Every purchase supports women in vulnerable situations who haven’t been able to work due to the pandemic. | | |
