#CommunityIsHealing even when we are #TogetherApart

Thank you to our many donors for a very successful #GivingTuesdayNow earlier this month. This special fundraising event resulted in $3000 raised for The Boon Project in a single day. This money will go towards meeting financial needs for young adult cancer patients in our area and beyond. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic's impact on our state, we've seen a large increase in applications for financial assistance. Thanks to your overwhelming generousity, we will be able to honor those requests in the coming weeks. You met and exceeded our expectations! On behalf of those we serve, thank you!

Courage Club Corner

Courage Club looks a little different these days, but we are very active! In addition to weekly Zoom Trivia nights, a survivor-led Zoom Bible study group, and our Metathriver Zoom sessions, we had a cooking class!

Thanks to Rhonda Wilson from The Drizzled Pear for Zooming with us while we prepped, cooked, and plated a delicious meal! Rhonda was the chef who prepared the delicious food at our gala in March, and we loved learning some of her secrets! We plan to do it again!

We are looking forward to getting together in person in the coming months, but are taking it slowly. We continue to consult with our board members, medical advisors, and (of course) those we serve as we think towards safe ways to gather in the future. We will share details as plans are firmed up this summer.

Upcoming Courage Club Events

Tuesday Night Trivia: Zoom link in Facebook Event. Topic varies each week. Next week is Around the World.

Wednesday Night Bible Study: Courage Club members are invited to attend a weekly virtual Bible study in Zoom. Survivors take turns leading the lesson and discussion. Link in group event.

Fitness Force!

As gyms begin opening up, many of our Fitness Force survivors and supporters are finding their way back to their fitness routines. Many are still staying home, and we are continuing to encourage one another to "Find your fit" whatever your situation. Offical in person Fitness Force events are still on hold, but please keep posting those "sweaty selfies" and encourage each other to move!

Financial Assistance Grants

We're grateful to continue to be able to provide young adults fighting cancer with the opportunity for financial assistance. Applications are available on our website or by clicking here. Thank you to our generous donors who have allowed us to expand our programs to better serve this community, and to our partner doctors who have helped make their patients aware of this resource.
