APRIL FOOLS!

I gotchu good because I didn't send this out on April Fools!

Happy Friday Friends!!!

Happy Newsletter Friday! Welcome to those of you who are reading this for the first time and welcome back to those returning! Let's kick it off with the anticipated poll results!

THE POLL RESULTS:

Some opinions are accepted by the masses and of course, some are... unpopular. We all have an opinion or two or more that are unpopular even if they are annoying. Given the wide range of unpopular (wrong in some cases... you know the cases) there has to be a favorite. Well, let's see what the most popular unpopular opinion!

Holy moly... this past poll we had another three-way tie! You know the rule now because we had to enact this rule before. The rule is, I get to break the tie! So, what were the three unpopular opinions? #1 - Pineapple belongs on pizza. #2 - Disney World work is overrated. #3 - Coffee isn't that amazing. And to break the tie I say that, coffee isn't that amazing! Sorry y'all... I'm not a coffee drinker!

OTHER NEWS:

I know you are a little confused to find this in your inbox on a Sunday and not our usual scheduled Friday. That makes sense because I haven't missed a Friday since October 2020! When I realized I missed the Friday, I had was like "OHH NOO!" but, after I sat with it for a minute, I was okay. Sometimes, you slip up and forget to do something. Life is busy and there are a lot of things happening and sometimes the best way to show up is to show up for yourself. I was present with myself and the moment on Friday which is why I forgot (or was I really celebrating April Fools...?). I showed up for myself on Friday and this is me showing up for myself up today by creating something that gives me joy, even if it is a little late. Let me encourage everyone to find a way to show up for themselves this week!

In other news, these past few weeks have been a BUSY week for me! I ran the NYC Half (as mentioned above), performed as Nikki, saw great friends, and really started enjoying the spring! The spring is gorgeous because life feels anew again and I feel it too. I am excited for what is to come this season and to keep finding connection and community.

OHHH - go and stream Brene Brown's Atlas of the Heart on HBO Max! You won't regret it!

Thank you for reading this and if this brought a smile to your day, feel free to forward it on and spread the cheer! Don't forget the impact a little kindness can have. It can create lots of change!

'Til next time,

...alex is out

  • The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

What I have read these past few weeks:

  • Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman

    • I am so happy that I finished this book! It was so rewarding and very insightful. I loved reading it (even if it took me ages to get through). I would def recommend it but, buckle up because it will be a long ride (4.5 stars)

The Newsletter Poll!

So many unpopular opinions and there are a very few I can actually get behind. With that being said, I want to hear what everyone is looking forward to the most this spring. So, this question is brought to you by ME and it is, what is your favorite part of spring?!
