Dear Fellow Southlake Residents: |

Hello!!!! There is life after THE ECLIPSE, even for those of us outside the “path of totality.” Hopefully all of you who wanted to, were able to get a glimpse of the partial total solar eclipse this past Monday, April 8, 2024, before the clouds took over. Attached is a photo taken by Helen Kim, an SRA resident. If you missed it locally, there are some fantastic photos on Facebook of the eclipse, taken in Texas, Arkansas, and Indianapolis. Just type "total eclipse 2024" on Facebook. |

ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS FOR 2024-2025 You should have received the ballot in the mail; please fill out one per household, and bring with you to the April 18, 2024, meeting, and hand in at the door, OR photograph it and email it to Stephanie Panagiotides, spanas@cmacommunities.com, by Monday, April 15, to ensure receipt in time. The best thing is to bring with you to the annual meeting April 18. Votes will be tallied, and results announced at the meeting, so don’t be late. |

Walk for Health: Prioritize Safety Until we can get sidewalks, walk carefully in the neighborhood. For maximum safety Walk facing oncoming traffic, Wear BRIGHT light clothing preferably with asymmetric reflective bands on back, or legs, or arms. Use a flashlight when walking early in the morning, or late in the day.
Especially at dusk, around “blind” corners/curves, bodies wearing Non-bright clothing can be hard to see. |

Dogs need to be on a leash Several dogs have been observed wandering our neighborhoods without a leash. City ordinances require that dogs be on a leash, AND that their poop be collected, and disposed of properly. If the owner of a dog wandering free is known, attempts will be made to contact them. A neighbor has the right to file a complaint at MyHooverConnect, even if a dog is non threatening. |

Contractor Debris Contractors must clear their debris at the completion of a job. Do not let them tell you “we’ll be back in 48 hr.” This pile stayed spilled onto the road for 4 days (including the weekend) and was a hazard to drivers. Tell them of the requirement to remove the debris at the completion of the job before you hire them; if they say they cannot, don’t hire them; there are plenty others who will. |

Is Your Neighbor getting the newsletter? We are making every attempt to get the newsletter to every household, so that everyone can be in the loop. At last count (March, 2024) 424 newsletters had been emailed, but 88 of those emails had not been opened. If you hear of your neighbor not getting the newsletter, please let us know at the April 18, 2024 meeting. |

See you at the April 18, 2024 annual meeting at Faulkner. Sincerely, A.W. Bolt Southlake Residential Association President |
