Upcoming Events

Neuroengineering & Medicine Seminar

The Center for Neuroengineering & Medicine is hosting the first seminar for this academic year on Wednesday, October 4th, 4:10 – 5:00pm, at the GBSF Auditorium.

Topic: Modeling Dynamics and How Neural Properties Explain Adaptation During Learning

Speaker: Samantha Santacruz, PhD, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Cockrell School of Engineering, University of Texas at Austin.

Check out https://neuroengineering.ucdavis.edu/events for the upcoming monthly seminar series details.

Upcoming QE? Practice in the BESA Student Seminar Series
The student seminar series is an amazing opportunity to practice your research presentations, particularly in preparation for the qualifying exam, in a low-key and friendly environment. Upper-year BESA students are able to provide useful and constructive feedback for students who are about to take their QE. If you are interested in presenting your research to your peers, please email our Program Advising Chair Ben Mattison (bsmattison@ucdavis.edu).

Announcements and Awards

Congratulations to Dr. Emilie Roncali and the Roncali Lab for being awarded an R01 grant. This is a 4-year award from the NIBIB that started in August 2023, for $3.1 M aiming at developing new AI-based methods for optical simulations applied to nuclear medicine. This is a new simulation framework that will be integrated into an opensource software already used by two thousands of users, which the Roncali lab  is actively developing as part of an international collaboration.
