Performances, Workshop & Panel Discussions to End Season 7

As season 7 is coming to a strong finish, please know we appreciate the time and energy you have shared with us thus far. We hope to see you at one (or more) of these final events of the season!

Our work is meant to spark a conversation, build connection, and remind us that we are not alone. If you haven’t had a chance to share space with us this season, it’s not too late! We’ve got four incredible events coming up and all of these events are free and open to the public thanks to the generosity of our partners. Details below.

April 15th at 5p-6p: A new iteration of Understanding Otherness will be happening at Escalante Center in Tempe this Saturday! Our shows are always evolving so come see what has changed and continue the conversation from our last Q&A. This event is made possible by the Tempe Union High School District and the City of Tempe. For more information and to register for this free event visit: https://www.greyboxcollective.com/tuhsd

April 21st at 7p: We will be sharing an excerpt of Understanding Otherness at Take Back The Night this year as part of our ongoing partnership with La Frontera. We are excited to return to this event in-person this year. The event itself is from 6-9p at ASU's Tempe campus. More information in the attached flyer.

April 27th 6-9p: Want to perform with us? Join us as part of the Artivist Festival at ASU where you can participate in a workshop from 6-7:30p to learn the performance score and then perform on stage with us at 8p. More details about this event and what to expect will be rolling out in our newsletter and on social media so be sure to subscribe and follow to receive those updates. The Artivist Festival is a two-day dance film festival dedicated to promoting activism and advocacy through the arts held by ASU DUOS (Dance Undergraduate Organizational Support). This festival is a modality for bringing people together and creating spaces for empathy, understanding, and community.

May 3rd at 1p-2:15p: Finally, we have been invited by the Arizona Commission on the Arts to lead a session on Trauma-Informed Creative Practices at the AZ Arts Learning Virtual Symposium this year. For more information and to register for this event visit: https://azarts.gov/news/save-the-date-az-arts-learning-virtual-symposium/ Extra special note here: we are one of the arts organizations that benefit greatly from the support from the arts commission. Please take a moment to find out how you can ensure a continued investment in Arizona arts here.

This spring we released the film version of Understanding Otherness made by the digital creatives who live from the east to west coast of the US. In our creative process, we allow the topics to unfold organically and be informed by the lived experiences of the humans involved in the devising process. The film and the live performance both offer unique interpretations of similar prompts. Please take some time to view the film linked below.

Watch the film version here 🍿

Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram where you will get the latest information about upcoming events, special announcements, and get to know more about the creatives.
