ARTIST OF THE MONTH COCKTAIL RECEPTION On Thursday, October 5th from 5 PM to 6:30 PM our LAA/Sound View Artist of the Month Gallery at the Palmetto Club will once again be hosting its regular monthly cocktail reception! There will be a wine & beer bar set up on the patio near the pro shop that will accept both member numbers and credit cards, as well as a cheese and fruit board for all to enjoy. SPOTLIGHT ON KIP BRADLEY WORKSHOP - REGISTER NOW! Workshop Dates: Tuesday, October 31st – Thursday, November 2nd Member Price: $300, Non-Member Price: $345 Registration Deadline: October 10, 2023 Kip Bradley has been The Telfair Museum’s Studio Programs Coordinator for 13 years, working locally and internationally encouraging people to explore a sense of presentness through painting and drawing. Kip paints an average of 3 plein-air paintings and one still life painting per week and exhibits regionally and nationally. You may view some of his beautiful works at www.kipbradley.com. This workshop is called “Alla Prima Still Life with Oil” as Kip will demonstrate how to lay pigments on in a single application instead of being built up. Class will present a strategy for paint application, color mixing, and an understanding of the structures that create the illusion of space and volume. Our GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS with speakers/presenters will now take place on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at the Skidaway Community Church and will be held on October 17th, January 16th, March 19th and May 21st. Mark your calendars! Our VIRTUAL GALLERY on Facebook will offer a $50 monthly cash prize, now in the form of a RANDOM GIVEAWAY. A winner will be chosen using Google's Random Generator and announced on the LAA Challenge page. Those members posting 2 pieces per month (max allowed) will have double the chance of winning. And remember - each piece you post is being seen by over 530 artists and art appreciators!
