In 2018 the LGBTQIA+ Task Force was created to take a stand and embrace the Presbyterian USA's changing standpoint on how we include all of God's people, especially those who have been ignored and mistreated by the church for far too long. New Castle Presbyterian Church joined over 230 churches and became a part of the More Light Presbyterians as fully affirming allies and advocates for our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ. Every June during Pride month we decorate the walkway with the rainbow flags as an outward sign of our support and love for the broader LGBTQIA+ community, but there is still so much more we can do throughout the year; and we hope that you help us in making this happen! We would love for you to join us in creating new events, reaching out to our friends in the community; and become a part of this fun yet important ministry! If you are interested in being a part of the LGBTQIA+ Task Force please contact Salina Brett or Diana Reilly. Here is a link to the More Light Presbyterian website. |

GIFTS OF LOVE Thanks to the MVPs who have contributed thus far and all who continue to do so. Our last collection of the year will be on Sunday, December 4. So far, we've achieved 89% of our goal and donated $3,200 of our $3,600 commitment to our neighbors in need. But, we can't take our eyes off the ball. We must continue to press an aggressive offense to raise the remaining $400 of our pledge for the year. So make a donation through one of the white envelopes to help us reach the endzone! |
EMMANUEL DINING ROOM - COOKIES! Each month, NCPC offers freshly made brownies for our EDR neighbors. But this month, we are mixing it up! During coffee hour on December 4, we'll decorate hundreds of Christmas Cookies! Donations of cookie icing and sprinkles are appreciated, as well as 'naked' sugar cookies. Contact Liz Toto if you'd like to be on the regular monthly reminder list. Brownies will be due as normal to the church kitchen on January 6th. |

JANUARY 15 BOOK DISCUSSION Kate Bowler has a recent book called No Cure for Being Human (and Other Truths I Need to Hear). It’s a memoir for all of us who understand we are more limited than we may have realized. Those of us who are trapped by fragile bodies, commitments, dependents, geography, money, and circumstances. Start reading now and join us after worship on January 15 for a time of conversation and resource sharing as we all acknowledge - there's no cure for being human, but in life and in death, we belong to God! |
