September has been quite busy over here on the farm! We've been working on the farm store, partnering with local businesses and non-profits, getting our home kitchen certified, and adding a lot of new products. We're so excited to be able to offer new Killeen Crossroads Farm gear like campfire coffee mugs, vinyl laptop stickers, and especially our new shirts for infants, toddlers & kids. There is also a huge crop of beautiful pumpkins available for purchase at the farm stand now--or at least while they last. You might be one of the lucky ones who has already snagged some of our new additions, but if not, you definitely need to stop by and check everything out! |

With the 2021 holiday season just around the corner, you can go ahead and order your turkey from us and check one thing off your to-do list. These Heritage turkeys will range from 12 - 25 lb. and will be available for pick-up starting on Wednesday, November 16th. If you choose to pick-up on the 16th, you will receive a $5 early-bird discount (pun intended). Now that the weather is cooling down, we're finally about to dive into our assortment of Asian vegetables. This was the first week we've been able to offer them at the farm stand, and they are already quite popular (just like we knew they would be)! So far, we have harvested pak choi, daikon, Thai chili, Nabechan onions, purple basil, and a variety of small greens. If you're interested in trying out some of these delicious new offerings, you can sample each of them in our new Asian Veggie Bundle. |

We're happy to share another delicious recipe from Hilary Meyer with you this month. Late summer offers hardy greens and of course, summer and early fall squash. They come together here in this veggie-packed salad with quinoa and feta cheese. “Massaging” the dressing into the kale helps mellow its bite. Enjoy as a vegetarian main dish or as a side salad for a larger crowd. We still have some squash & kale on the farm stand, so grab some next time you're over our way. | | |
