FBF Transitions to a Therapeutic Mission

Important changes are underway at Furnace Brook Farm. As we shift our focus from competitive riding to therapeutic services, we'd like to update you on what's ahead.

Next Steps at FBF

FBF Rider in the News

Congratulations to Caroline Costa from our therapeutic riding program who was recently featured in The Morgan Horse magazine along with Red Barn Canadian Flaire, her equine partner in riding lessons!

In the Morgan Horse article, "Connecting and Communicating" Caroline's mom (Christine), shared, "Coming to Furnace Brook Farm is the highlight of our week. There are no words to tell you how much this means to our family. Furnace Brook Farm is a place where our whole family feels accepted, safe, and welcomed. I often wish the world was like this. It is also a place where we finally smile about hitting new milestones without crying about missed or late milestones!"

New Program Launching!

FBF is excited to launch its first therapeutic group program for young people, ages 12-16. Katie Murphy Gordon, FBF instructor and clinical social worker and fellow therapist, Suzanne Otte (FBF rider and Sobe's mom) to lead "Centered Self" a stress and anxiety reduction group. The weekly 2 hour group will run for 6 weeks (on Wednesdays 10:00am-12:00pm) beginning October 14th. The group will be limited to 6 participants. We will keep a wait list and open a second group if we have sufficient numbers of youth interested. Click here to learn more and register!

New Faces

FBF has added to the herd! We're thrilled to welcome Larry (owned by Jillian Egan) and Elliott (owned by Erin Van Steenburgh) to the farm. Read more about these wonderful horses and look forward to meeting them during your next visit to FBF!

Friendly Reminder

We ask that unless you are scheduled for a lesson or appointment at FBF please do not visit outside of these times. While we'd love to welcome everyone, we are not able to ensure your safety around the horses and with regard to COVID-related social distancing as we are occupied with lessons, attending to the horses, and barn upkeep throughout the day. We appreciate your support and help with this request. Thank you!
