Spring Newsletter

As mud season takes hold in Downeast Maine, we're tuning into the rhythm of renewal and growth that Spring brings. In this season of transition, we're eager to spotlight the ways music uplifts and connects us.

Why Music?

Music is our tool for therapy because of the special way music impacts our brains and bodies.

Music makes us feel good. It triggers emotions, brings back memories, motivates us, and connects us to one another. It can also change our heart rate, how we move, and even how our brains process information.

Music therapists know this not just because we see it in our work every day, but because decades of research and study have proven that music therapy is an effective treatment approach. Music therapists study the science and psychology behind music and use evidence-based techniques in our practice.

Grant support, word-of-mouth referrals, and passionate advocates who believe in the transformative power of music are the reasons Modulations Therapies continues to thrive. It is this collaborative, community spirit that propels us forward on our journey of healing and connection.

Thank you Witham Foundation!

We recently received a grant from the Witham Family Hotels Charitable Fund to support our music therapy programming at Special Children's Friends in Ellsworth. This funding will allow us to continue to provide weekly group services to preschool children receiving early intervention services.

Ellsworth Library Workshop

We are excited to lead the Ellsworth Public Library's Family Place parent/child workshop on Thursday April 4th from 10:30-noon. Parents/caregivers with children 1-3 years old will have the opportunity to explore instruments, make friends, and talk one-on-one with a different community resource professional each week. On April 4th, Carla will be available to discuss all things Early Childhood Music & Movement, followed by a music circle time. Join us!
