Our founder and director Laura was chosen by the Royal Borough of Greenwich as one of the amazing women in Greenwich who do amazing things for women as part of their 16 Days of Activism project to end violence against women and girls. They are sharing one woman’s story every day for 16 days, so keep your eyes peeled @Royal_Greenwich twitter or royalgreenwich facebook to hear their stories. |

Our Stronger Together leader, Khadidja, and Laura shared their experiences on using storytelling and power for change in community organising for a video for King's College London. |

A member of the South East London Integrated Care System engagement team visited our Forum Theatre session to see our work in progress, and discuss thoughts and experiences with health services. This was a very important moment of dialogue for our group, and we hope our experiences will be used to help create change. |

As part of our My Creative Skills project funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich Innovation Fund, we organised a day out for our mothers and their children during half term. Thanks to Charlotte Paddock, Adults and Communities Participation Manager at the Royal Museums Greenwich, a group of 38 adults and children visited the National Maritime Museum and participated in two creative workshops making beautiful artwork. One of the sessions was run by local artist Tanaz Assefi. |

We will be resuming our Creative Families project from 12th January to 16th February 2023. This group is a great opportunity for mothers from different backgrounds to come together to share experiences, discuss parenting issues and explore creative activities to do with children.

Our Stronger Together Leaders will also be running another course in Community Action and Leadership specifically for migrant women. The course will run from 9th January to 6th February 2023, with 4 sessions online and the 5th session will be in-person.

Fatiha and Ijeoma, two of our Stronger Together leaders working on our temporary accommodation #NoticeUs campaign, attended a two-day conference on Housing Justice and Homelessness: Current Challenges faced by Minoritised and Migrant Women organised by Disrupt in Sussex.
|
|
“The conference was indeed a refreshing experience where I identified and met women with common and passionate cause who I can rely on, learn from, stand up together to fight injustices and inequalities through not conventional wisdom but playing the game by getting a seat on the table of policy makers and be friends with (building grassroots support and collaboration). Also I hope it makes a bit of sense cos I can’t put into writing the huge experience of meeting beautiful, strong and resilient people making a difference in their little ways and coming together will make it impossible to break as they say a piece of broom can be broken easily but a bunch of brooms can’t be broken or silent!!!” Ijeoma, Stronger Together Leader |
