An Ode to my Darling Mom
Written by your one and only daughter Harshita Thadhani
Many mother’s day have elapsed
I live with you alive in my heart
I look towards god when I miss you
Not a single day goes by without your thought.
Mom you and I were inseparable
My day began with your beautiful smile
Your serenity and calmness brightened our face
Never did you anger on us even for a while.
You held our hand through thick and thin‘
Never hurt a soul even unintentionally’ you said
We the puppets play our part in gods own world
This wound of missing will never mend.
Your words of wisdom are embedded in me
I hold you very high in my esteem
Even god falls short of coming close to you mom
Your strong arms always entrenched me.
An absolute selfless being you were
When daughters turn to be like their moms they said
I reached for you within me‘
If you love god the way you love me’ you said‘
From hardships forever you will be free’
Reconciling my heart is a farfetched consolation
I have tried but ever so failed
Close to becoming you my mom
But close to god you became.
Never did god ask if he should separate us
Never did he feel my wounded heart
I wish I hugged and kissed you more
This void is an irreparable loss
