Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms Joins Leaders from Across the Globe for Groundbreaking Virtual New Year’s Eve Celebration |

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms joined leaders across the globe for a first-of-its-kind virtual New Year’s Eve celebration to allow people to ring in the New Year safely. Mayor Bottoms says, “Although 2020 has been full of challenges, the fact that we are here to celebrate a new year is a testament to the resilience of people around the world.” To mark this historic occasion, US mayors from Birmingham, Boston, Charleston, Charlotte, Charlottesville, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Louisville, Miami, New Orleans, Savannah, Seattle, Stockton along with the mayors from Calgary, Canada; Nürnberg, Germany; Mumbai, India; Fukuoka City, Japan; Mexico City, Mexico and Cape Town, South Africa also joined the festivities. MOIA and UPS proudly announces the 2021 cohort for the Women Export University |

Women Export U, in partnership with UPS, is a four month capacity building program that will equip entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and resources to become globally competitive and increase the participation of women-owned businesses in international trade. 24 female entrepreneurs started their journey on January 13 when Women Export U officially kicked off with a welcome program that included remarks from Penny Naas, President, International Public Affairs and Sustainability at UPS, Maria Luisa Boyce, Vice President, UPS Global Public Affairs, Vanessa Ibarra, MOIA Director, and Cesar Vence, MOIA Deputy Director. "From the World to the A: Coffee with Legends" is a platform of dialogue with Atlanta's international figures - athletes, diplomats, journalists, historians, business, and civic leaders - as they discuss the city's role in their careers and their experiences in the capital of Georgia. The first two seasons highlights the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of International Affairs’ Global Sports Initiative, which aims to elevate the City of Atlanta as an international sports hub through community engagement, sports exchanges, economic development, and sports diplomacy.
