'360' Newsletter

Ramin Yazdanpanah, Ph.D. | July 5, 2024

A resource for teachers and learners, a quote to inspire, and a question to ponder. It really is the little things we do consistently that lead to great outcomes.

This issue of '360' focuses on providing you with a framework and resources on Project Based Learning (PBL). According to the article, What is PBL? (Buck Institute for Education), "PBL requires critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and various forms of communication. To answer a driving question and create high-quality work, students need to do much more than remember information. They need to use higher-order thinking skills and learn to work as a team".

The following presents an illustrated framework of Seven Essential Project Design Elements for developing high-quality projects for your classroom and Seven Project-Based Teaching Practices to help teachers, schools, and organizations improve, calibrate, and assess their practice.

Quote

"In every challenge or even tragedy, there is an opportunity. And if you train yourself to look for the opportunity, you will be able to take control of the situation and even turn it into a positive or if it can't be turned into something good, at least something good could come out of it."

- Menachem Mendel Schneerson

Question

Where might there be an opportunity to create something positive from a difficulty you are currently facing?
