APRIL NEWS

from Maine STREAM Place, Inc.

It's time to announce our Spring and Summer programs! We'd also like to highlight one of our favorite sponsors. We have had many wonderful sponsors this season making this season possible. We can't do this without their support and yours!

Knights of Katahdin

Spring/Summer Training

We've started a 2-week overview training so that all the Knights can learn a little about what all the sub-teams do. This began on Monday the 22nd. In May, we will return to more specific and detailed training for each of the sub-teams:

  •  Mechanical - includes Design, Machining, and Assembly of parts and the entire competition robot.

  • Software/Electrical - includes programming the robot and design, layout, and assembly of electrical systems.

  • Entrepreneurship - includes branding, fundraising and budgeting, communications within and outside the team, and competition award preparation.

For the Spring and Summer, all sub-teams will meet on different nights, so students are able to train in different areas, and decide which group suits them best for Pre-Season projects and the 2025 Competition season. The Mechanical team will meet two nights per week to redesign and rebuild our competition robot. Software/Electrical and Entrepreneurship will each meet one night a week to learn more skills that will help them be better prepared for next year's competition season. The ultimate goal is for the students to become the teachers or mentors for new students joining our team. For more information, see the REACH OUT section below to contact us.
