Seedling Newsletter: Vol 12

— May 17, 2024 —

Welcome to the 12th edition of Seedling's newsletter! Today, we're bridging environmental education with technical topics and sharing what our students have built recently. 📐

Sustainable Skills:

Technology and Engineering

The Seedling curriculum spans everything from plant science and food systems to technology and business, equipping participants with the tools they need to tackle grand sustainability challenges. 🌏

In the introductory Arduino lesson pictured to the left, students coded a LED circuit to flash their name in Morse code and discussed agricultural applications like water quality or humidity sensors. 💡

On Our Socials:

Towers of Treats

Project highlights from our new engineering unit include building marshmallow towers and geodesic domes (civil engineering), designing paper wind turbines (environmental engineering), and exploring heat transfer by making ice cream (chemical engineering). 🔨

We love seeing our students' creations, and our students love spending sessions bringing their ideas to life (and frequently getting a sweet treat at the end). What a great way to end the year! 🍬

Meet Seedling
