Hello!
It's been a while and I'm very excited to share with you my recent pianistic goings-on.
During the summer, I dived into learning Spotify and other streaming platforms via an online course with superb German guitarist Heike Matthiesen. The resulting self-released single (cover pictured above) is a significant step for me: the releasing process is no longer a mystery and the knowledge and skills learnt are invaluable! You can listen to the Debussy single on any streaming platform apart from YouTube (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal etc etc). If you follow me on your favourite platform, they will notify you of my next releases (and yes, there is more to come)!
I have also been having fun creating playlists on Spotify - 'Summer Sky Gazing', 'Morning Coffee Playlist' and 'Fin de siècle piano' under 'Artist Playlist' - my favourite is 'Summer Sky Gazing' which I found works in many situations, including driving!
A recital of mine was recorded live in Howden Minster and as a result, my recital playing can be sampled on YouTube. I'm very pleased with this recording and how it captured the atmosphere of the concert. Mental preparation and recording myself a lot beforehand really helped in dealing with the pressure of being recorded live; I forgot about the cameras when playing. Hope you enjoy it!
I have also put back online my 28-min recital for the online nexTus Festival - a video concert of music, poetry and swan photos. The festival was an international pandemic project, run entirely online, and it was a wonderful event to be part of.
Happy listening!
