SewGreen Fabric Reuse

LaBelle Maison is owned and operated by Meghan B. Estaque, from Honeoye. Meghan is self-taught and creates these beautiful pieces from 100% reclaimed fabric. She prevents approximately 1000 pounds (that's 1/2 ton) of textiles from going into landfills annually. Everything is machine washable and highly durable. Meghan gets a lot of fabric at SewGreenRochester, so to pay it forward we are introducing you to her here.

Meghan will be at the Corn Hill Arts Festival on July 13th and 14th.

Take a look at the beautiful things she makes on Instagram, and Facebook.

Fleece Scraps

Becky made this beautiful quilt from fleece scraps. What an imaginative idea to do with fleece scraps! A perfect scrappy Quilt!

We have FABRIC!

We have tons of fabric in need of a loving home! SewGreen has been taking in a lot of fabric donations lately. Perhaps it's time to make a nice cotton tablecloth for your picnic table, cloth napkins, or placeholders. You might also want to start on sewing up a dress or other garment for your fall wardrobe! We've got new woolens, cottons, and lots of new shiny fabrics. Stop in and see what we've got.

Upcoming Classes

Sewing Machine 101/102

 June 22, 2-4PM

Make friends with a sewing machine in our shop or bring yours from home. We will take you through the basics of machine operation and safety, and guide you toward sewing a project. Also, build on the skills you've gained in 101. Is there a sewing project that interests you, or that you want to complete? How can your newly-gained sewing machine skills help you achieve that goal? This is the place and time to learn!

Serger 101/102

June 25, 11-1 and 4-6

Sergers can be a little intimidating but they are great sewing tools once you understand how to use and adjust them to suit your project!  In the 101 class, learn the basics of threading and tension.  For Serger 201, you've learned the basics but want to go further!  Bring your serger, or sit down at the shop sergers.  If you bring your own, don't forget your serger's manual and all its feet, too!
