Fall is almost upon use. The Fireweed has gone to cotton and the leaves are starting to turn colors. Time to get back in the shop and start creating. This years season was kicked off with the Alaska State Fair. This year the scrollers were demonstrating all 3 weeks. It’s been tiring, but very rewarding. The highlights this year were a brain teaser puzzle made by Gordon. Adults would spend up to an hour trying to solve the puzzle. It was solved less than 10 times. It will be back next year. The other big hit was two board walking toys. Nobody left the barn without smiling watching these toys. Durning the fair there was a lot of interest shown in starting a scroll club in the valley. Our first meeting will be September 24th from 10-2 at Spenard Building Supply located at 1700 W. Parks Hwy, Wasilla. Hopefully we’ll have a great turnout. This group will meet the 4th Saturday of the month. We had a lot of people show interest in the Anchorage meeting as well. This group will continue to meet the 3rd Saturday of the month. A reminder email will be sent to all those who have shown an interest in the hobby. We hope to see everyone at one or both of the meetings. Let the saw dust fly. Happy Scrolling |
