"Nothing can dim the light which shines from within." -Maya Angelou I know, I know! Two newsletters in one month. I'm breaking All. The. Rules!! But you know me, always the rebel and living on the edge. Haha! There's so much happening at the beginning of May, and I'm just too excited to share it all with you. With that said, I promise to keep this short. I've been thinking about light, and no, not just any light, but the internal and eternal light that radiates from each of us. Funnily enough, this topic has come up in many different conversations this past week alone. There is something to be said that when we feel our light dim, we can still be a beacon of love, service, and hope to others. It may have been Ernest Hemingway that said, "We are all broken—that is how the light gets in." These times have been especially hard on so many. In fact, I believe every single person is struggling with an incredible hardship and burden that those around them may not even realize. The world is feeling a bit dark and tumultuous lately, but I believe this is when our light is needed the most. So please, SHINE, beautiful friends, brightly and boldly. Your light, even dimmed, is everything magic and reflects that beautiful spirit and gorgeous heart within. Shine on! XO Rebekah |

I asked, and you delivered. Before Easter, my inbox flooded with nominations for friends, families, and loved ones who could use a bit of extra love on Easter weekend. I had initially planned on selecting five nominations to receive the cookie decorating kits. Still, as I read through the beautiful messages of unconditional love, support, heartaches, and the strength in overcoming life's obstacles, it was impossible to choose. My daughter saw my tear-stained cheeks, smiled, and said, "You're going to choose them all, huh?" To which I responded, "Absolutely." Due to your big hearts and kind souls, we spent all day Saturday, as well as Easter morning, delivering kits across Orange County. Thank you for participating in this beautiful tradition. |

May In-Person Cookie Class |
Speaking of light, the idea of everything joyful, bright, and sunny was the inspiration behind this set. On Easter, I taught my daughter and her friend how to play "You Are My Sunshine" on the ukulele. It's one of my favorite songs, and you would often hear me sing it to my children as a lullaby while they fell asleep. The song itself is so cheerful, and I wanted to create a set that represented just that because I think we all could use an extra dose of happiness, right? In this set, we will be piping, flooding, using Intricate Edibles wax paper for texture, and adding a touch of sprinkles. Registration is now open! Class Dates: Monday, May 16th at 6:00pm Monday, May 23rd at 6:00pm |

Southern California Cookiers |
This past Friday, I had the opportunity to join dinner with 40 other cookie artists based in Southern California. The attendees ranged from hobby decorators to full-time bakery owners and everything in-between. It was a fun night of giveaways, swag bags, and everything cookies. My favorite part is the sense of community over competition, as well as the camaraderie between every single person. Thank you, Laura, of Little Miss Moffat Cookies, for hosting this amazing event. |
