Police Reform ROAR leaders were invited to partake in ongoing meetings organized by Carver County Sheriff Jason Kamerud to discuss police reform and ways to improve policing. Chief Seibert of Chaska PD is also part of the discussions as well as a broad range of community members. While we have a long way to go there are some positive changes coming from these discussions. |

Carver County Sheriff's Office - Updated use of force policies
- Mandatory YMCA implicit bias training for all staff (not yet started just approved)
- Addressed the discriminatory nature of asking for someone's birth country during arrests (protects undocumented residents from being detained by ICE for non-felon incidents). Due to state law changes this is no longer asked.
- Starting a know your rights type of campaign (more details to come)
- Complaint form in multiple languages

|
Chaska PD - Updating use of force policy
- Updating website to include transparency in how officers are disciplined
- Police policies made available online
- New complaint forms in multiple languages
- Education on how to submit complaints among other things
- Working on segregating data by race (traffic stops, calls, use of force, etc)
