PREVENTING HUNGER AND POVERTY ALONGSIDE GREAT COMMUNITY PARTNERS.

STAYING SAFE AND STILL SERVING

No one should go hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic. In crisis, families visit Spokane Valley Partners for emergencies and temporary food needs – but more often, for people seeking food assistance, Spokane Valley Partners becomes a part of their households’ long-term strategy to supplement monthly food budget shortfalls. Seniors, who so often struggle with fixed or limited incomes, are among our most consistent clients. As unemployment continues to rise, families are bracing for continued economic crisis and Spokane Valley Partners is preparing to see the community through this crisis.

We want you to know we are staying safe and still serving. If you are in need of assistance we are here to help. Visit our website www.svpart.org for more information, call us at (509) 927-1153 or email us at admin@svpart.org

Spokane Valley Partners works with Spokane Valley schools to ensure that the students who rely on school meals have access to food outside of the classroom. Please help support the Central Valley High School Leadership Class and students in need by making a donation of food or funds. Food items needed include ramen, individual oatmeal packets, granola bars and snacks.

Since March, Spokane Valley Partners has seen a 40% increase in need. In this time of instability for so many families we need donations more than ever.

"During this unprecedented time in education, the Food For Thought Program has played a significant role in addressing children’s food insecurities in our community. We all know the importance of meeting every child’s basic needs before the academic needs can be addressed," said Terrie VanderWegen, Ed.D. Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Learning and Teaching at Central Valley School District. "The Food For Thought Program provides weekend meals to our students every week—the impact this has on our families cannot be overstated. We cannot begin to thank the hundreds of community members that donate to this program—every dollar or donation makes a difference."

Host a Virtual Food Drive

Forget the heavy lifting of a traditional food drive and host a food bank fund drive. While traditional food drives are extremely important to our daily operations, the money raised from a virtual food Drive allows us to maximize impact. Food drives can raise 700 pounds per distribution location — roughly 583 meals. Conversely, raising and donating $700 to Spokane Valley Partners would translate to 1500 meals. Make your dollar and network go even further in your community.

COVID MATCHING CAMPAIGN

The outpouring of community support through these difficult days has been inspiring. A very generous anonymous donor kicked off a COVID-19 relief campaign on April 4, pledging to match each gift received up to $10,000. As we approached the goal MultiCare pledged an additional $10,000 in matching funds. We are immensely grateful for our community's generosity and trust in us. We raised $65,000! These funds help us continue to meet $335,000 in services that we provide each and every month.Thank you to everyone who doubled their awesome in April.
