For those of you who missed it, The Beverly Hills Art Show took place two weeks ago, at the Beverly Gardens Park. Every spring and fall since 1973, artists have descended upon the Beverly Gardens Park to showcase their works to browsers and buyers at this festival (once called the Affaire in the Gardens). This year's event featured 325 artists exhibiting paintings, sculptures, watercolors, photography and much more. Set on four blocks along the grassy Santa Monica Boulevard between Rodeo and Rexford Drive, the event included something for everyone with free kids’ activities, food trucks and beer and wine gardens with live music.

This show has grown to become one of the largest and most respected outdoor shows on the west coast, attracting not only the finest artists of Los Angeles, but globally as well. As part of the tradition, Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse was scouting the show to appoint the Mayor’s Choice Award, the most prestigious award given to an artist for installation at one of the city’s public spaces or facilities. The Mayor’s Choice Award was established to show the city’s commitment to the arts, artists and cultural community. “This is the most incredible time of year where our community comes together in our beautiful park to spend time outdoors enjoying amazing works of art, feeling inspired and re-energized,” Bosse said. “I love our annual art show that brings vibrancy to our beloved community, businesses and city streets.”

The 2022 fall sponsors and media partners are the Los Angeles Art Association, NoHo Arts District, the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Beverly Hills Conference and Visitor’s Bureau.

Veteran Day

Veterans Day is a U.S. legal holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars, and Veterans Day 2022 will occur on Friday, November 11. In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I, then known as “the Great War.” 

Commemorated in many countries as Armistice Day the following year, November 11th became a federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became known as Veterans Day.

World Kindness Day

World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998, to promote kindness throughout the world and is observed annually on November 13 as part of the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in many countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia and the U.A.E. World Kindness Day presents us with the opportunity to reflect upon one of the most important and unifying human principles. On a day devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness, try to promote and diffuse this crucial quality that brings people of every kind together.
