We Won a Tripadvisor
Travellers' Choice Award 2021
We're so pleased to have been recognised as a 2021 Travellers’ Choice award-winner, which means we're in the top 10% of accommodation providers on Tripadvisor. Thanks so much to all our lovely guests who have given us such wonderful reviews... we are humbled and delighted... thank you!!
Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at Tripadvisor: ‘Congratulations to all the winners of the 2021 Travelers’ Choice Awards. I know the past year has been extremely challenging for tourism businesses. What has impressed me is how businesses adapted to these challenges, implementing new cleanliness measures, adding social distancing guidelines, and utilizing technology to prioritize guest safety. The Travellers’ Choice Awards highlight the places that are consistently excellent – delivering quality experiences time and time again even while navigating changing customer expectations and new ways of working. Based on a full year of reviews from customers, this award speaks to the great service and experience you provided guests in the midst of a pandemic.’
Big Track!
We are hopefully, finally, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel (sorry!) with our ride-on train. The first delivery date was last autumn, but due to various set backs and issues over these past months, the loco is still being constructed. We were hoping to have it running for this summer, but sadly it hasn't been possible.
We are, however, getting the engine shed and track ready, so that when the train finally arrives we'll be able to run it. Everything is crossed that it won't be much longer!
Games Field Development
With fresh eyes, and a clean slate, we're taking a step back and having a think about what we might do with this whole area of Trenewydd Farm.
We are now most of the way through our second summer and we have realised that the communal BBQ has not been used once. It's just too far away from the cottages and people would rather barbeque in their own space outside their own cottage, which we totally understand. So, we have decided to remove the brick barbeque that is currently next to the games field, and buy portable BBQs for guests to use. We have two, and will be buying more.
Since we have also moved the chickens out of their old falling-down chicken coop, we are now looking at this area as one large rectangle and working out what is going to give the best value to our guests. We definitely plan to introduce a few more fun activities in this area! More to follow in the next newsletter, but the first thing we have done is build a table tennis table... fancy some ping pong?
...And a Little More Outdoor Fun!
We love to see guests around the site having fun, so we thought we'd get a few giant outdoor games. We have chess, connect-4 and jenga and they are already being well used.
