Jessica Anderton was born and raised in New Orleans. She and her son were living there in August of 2005 when Katrina hit. Her home and everything in it sat in eight feet of water for weeks. She ended up making her new home in Spring, Texas after this tragedy. When she’s not volunteering, she is a wife and mother to three wonderful boys; room mom; team mom; catechist teacher; taxi cab driver to her boys to all their activities. Her children keep her busy! She is a very loving and caring mother that, no matter what, will always put her children before herself. When asked what attracted her to Kailee Mills Foundation her response was powerful: "This organization does not just hit close to home for me. It is home. My son, Jared, and Kailee were close friends. Attending the same high school. Sharing many classes. Attending the same church - youth group & catechism classes. He was also the driver of the car that horrific evening. Bringing awareness to seat belt safety and safe driving among everyone, especially teens, is a mission that was always important in my world but now is etched into my heart after October 28th." Jessica would like people to understand that the foundation is not only bringing awareness to wearing seat belts by spreading the message and distribution of decals; but also, just how much they have helped people and families who have unexpectedly lost a loved one due to a car accident and not wearing a seat belt. |
"The financial proceeds they have raised have helped others through financial hardships due to the unexpected loss of a loved one in the same manner as they lost their Kailee." |
Jessica had this to say about what motivates her to stay involved: “I have already mentioned how close this is to my heart. I don't need much motivation to want to continue to stay involved it’s like it is built in me now. I will say, Wendy and David are motivators. As a parent, watching them drive this, while in pain, would/could/should make anyone want to stand up and spread awareness about seat belt safety and safe driving.” |
Jessica has been involved in every event that the foundation has done. From seat belt checks, to order filling, powder puff, glow run, decal distribution and MOST importantly spreading Kailee's message and helping bring awareness to the importance of seat belt safety and safe driving. |

Jessica’s Message:
“I think the Mills family and the strength they have shown, in taking a tragedy no parent should have to live and making it positive, is simply remarkable. Faith in God and His plan is often difficult to understand. Their unwavering faith amazes us. I also think the outpouring of immediate love and support around Spring, Texas and our little community has moved us all. Always #buckleup4kailee!” When asked what she hopes the foundation will achieve in the near future and long term, her dream definitely matches ours at Kailee Mills Foundation: "The goal I would like to see for the foundation is long term. I already see some of the short term unfolding every day in front of me. Kailee was taken from all of us too soon, BUT she was clearly meant to be doing big things. Look at this community, the love and support everyone has shown and how we have all come together to bring awareness and honor her memory is astounding. Long term: I would like Kailee's story to be well known everywhere. I want to be on a road trip in North Dakota and see a decal. Boarding a plane in Europe and see one on someone’s phone. I want everyone to hear her message. I want lives saved and impacted." We are so happy to have Jessica volunteering for our foundation and getting the message out there by sharing Kailee’s story! With her help, and many other volunteers, we will continue to save lives.

"Hello, my name is Mya. I was really good friends with Kailee throughout middle school and majority of high school. Kailee's impact on me is something I will cherish forever. I cannot explain how thankful I was to have gotten to know her. I think about her every single day. She was such a beautiful soul. I loved her dearly and I miss her every second of the day. She was an amazing friend to me and I just wanted to express how much of a positive impact she had on everyday. I'm so glad that her legacy continues to live on. What you guys are doing is beautiful. I always spread Kailee's story where ever I go with whom ever I am with. This is one of the only pictures I have of Kailee and I; we were at the 8th grade dance. It is my favorite." |
