It has been a long time coming, but finally, here are some new images for 2022. My decision to group pictures together, and make them available as part of collections, has meant that although I have generated quite a lot of new work during the past few months, they are only now beginning to see the light of day. The intention is that this will provide greater coherence, and allow for them to be understood in particular contexts.
One idea I had regarding how the work could be moved into the world, involves a greater sense of seasonality, paying attention to which times of year feel attuned to the images.
The first of these five works (The Serpent Hill) began to take form following a night time drive from Usk, back to my home in Newport. The full moon appeared to rest upon Wentwood Forest, and the river Usk glinted in the valley. After this the other pieces were made a various times, not necessarily one after the other. When I was a student at the University in Caerleon, I had a view from my studio into the Usk valley. So in some way, this area has always infused my work.
Clicking/tapping the images will take you to the relevant page in the webstore, where you will find further information, photos, and can purchase the work directly from me. An option to pay by installments is available. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch by replying to this email, or using the contact form on my website.
With Best Wishes.
