Connecting our Community with Resources

We are more than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic and now more than ever it is critical that we continue to connect our community members, of all ages, with preventative and crisis based resources. Since the Fall of 2020, the Chariho Youth Task Force has worked alongside partners

to meet our communities where they are with easy-to-find resources. Since October, these wooden signs (as well as indoor paper versions) are been promoted by local partners across Washington and Kent County, RI. To date, this QR code that leads to crisis supports, local resources, and stress reduction techniques has been scanned by more than 1,500 individuals and the following actions were taken:

- 378 people clicked on "I Need Help Now"

- 306 clicked on "Local Resources"

- 730 people clicked on "Stress Reduction"

- 98 people took no immediate action

We look forward to continuing this initiative and welcome your input on where you think additional signs can go in our community! Reach out to Dan@CharihoYouth.org to provide any suggestions. You are also more than welcome to download the paper version of the signs and use freely. Reach out if you need printed copies! Thank you for your continued support!

The Chariho Youth Task Force was founded over 12 years ago by Chariho Middle School students and is now a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization doing work across our community to improve health and wellness. Our mission is to educate, empower, and engage youth and adults in order to create a sense of community, to promote wellness, and to sustain opportunity for Chariho voices to be heard. We envision a society driven toward physical and mental well-being created through collaboration, education, and activism to promote a positive community climate.
