Dear CCCHS Members,

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our June Picnic and Rose Cologne Volunteer celebration. It was so nice to see such a great turnout. Photos from the event are posted on our facebook page. Please feel free to share them out, especially those of our deserving volunteers.

Although we won’t formally meet again until September 7th at Calvary Church, Council has been busy behind the scenes this summer.  Our annual Self Care Workshop will take place just before our September 7th Membership meeting and begin at 10:00 AM. The topic this year is “One Team, One Mission – Working Together Post Covid” and will be presented by PennCares Training. Elaina Seto from Centre Helps has been appointed to fill one of our board vacancies. Her energy and enthusiasm will be a great addition to our group.

We hope you or another delegate at your agency received your 2022 Membership Certificate via email and the link to complete a directory listing. If not, or if you have questions, please reach out to Membership Chair, Jennifer Eishenhuth.

Enjoy the next few months of summer and we’ll look forward to seeing you in September!

Providing Support During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Direct Support Workforce Survey, 24-Month Follow Up

Over the past 24 months, direct support workers have experienced high risks of infection, hardship and exhaustion. Many have become ill and lost loved ones. The voices of DSPs and frontline supervisors matter, now more than ever. Show them you care about their wellbeing by sharing this confidential survey. The University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration, in partnership with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals, developed this survey to better understand the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on direct support workers and identify the most effective ways to protect DSPs, frontline supervisors, and the people they support.

Please visit umn.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_57ThjnlYiBE1uXc to complete the survey. The survey closes on July 22, 2022.

Please forward this survey to the direct support workers that you employ, including paid family members. Their answers will be anonymous. National and state-specific results from the survey will be shared widely in September 2022. Three earlier surveys were conducted by ICI and NADSP and the results are available here. The new survey is for both direct support workers who completed an earlier survey and those who did not.

EMPLOYERS.

Are you having difficulty finding employees?

Are people applying who have some of your requirements but not all the skills they need?

If you answered YES to either of these questions, you may want to consider PA CareerLink’s On-the-Job Training program.

This program reduces the cost of hiring new employees when PA CareerLink reimburses you for a percentage of their training wages. PA CareerLink pre-screens the applicants, ensuring they will be reliable, responsible, and committed to learning new job skills. So, you reduce your costs and speed up the training process, ending with an employee who is the perfect fit for the job and your company.

Sound enticing? Learn more about PA CareerLink’s On-the-Job Training Program by calling 814-548-7587 and ask for Sarah.
