Hi, Everyone.

 

     "SPRING is the most important season for a squash player looking to move to the next level of achievement."

 

Spring gives coaches an opportunity to improve an athletes overall athletic profile, hone technique and most importantly, gain a jump on rivals.  There are three things to unpack in that statement.

  1. Spring has less competitive pressure, allowing coaches to be more concerned with technique and the long term - rather than just winning the next match.
  2. As Spring has less competitive pressure, we can do more physical training to progress an athletes physical profile, without taking away from their winning chances due to fatigue.
  3. Many others “rest” from squash in the Spring - making it the ideal opportunity to move up and on past them.

Right now at SQUASHTIGERS we are focused on finishing out the last competitive outings of the 2022 season strongly, then preparing for that next level jump.  The coaches are commencing the goal setting process, conducting appropriate physical testing, technical evaluation and ensuring that all players have an individual agenda moving forwards.

News in brief...

Gold Nationals kick off tomorrow all of us wish good luck to our hard working players who made the cut.  A reminder for those of you looking to make next years Nationals - TRAINING ALWAYS RUNS AT THE CLUB.  So despite the fact that Paul will be in Philly with the crew, Jamie will be holding down the fort and SQUADS RUN AS USUAL.

Please remember to REGISTER for SQUADS.  The online reservation system is a helpful aid for the coaches to be able to plan appropriately for each and every training session.  While not crucial, (please come even if you forget to register!), it would help us a little if you could make sure to sign up in advance.

Lesson slots are now open for Spring training.  This means that you can reserve the same time and day each week for your lesson or your strength and conditioning session.  Requests may be made directly with me via email.

SPRING BREAK OPPORTUNITIES

For those who are currently on Spring Break, SQUASHTIGERS is allowing players to DROP IN for the next two weeks.  Our training schedule is unchanged and may be found HERE.  In order to attend you must fill out a SQUASHTIGERS PROFILE, choose the "Drop in" option and register for the squad in advance.  If it is more convenient, you may contact me directly and I can assist.

SUMMER CAMPS

SQUASHTIGERS Summer Camps - the basics!

  1. We will be running camps every week from June 20 until September 3.
  2. All level of player welcome - we have both the coaches and enough courts to accommodate a mix of experience.
  3. With both full day and half day options, in addition to a full summer discount membership, there is something to work with all your plans.
