Welcome Short Story Dispenser

The Central Library has a new way to read and it is a machine that prints out free, original stories on demand. Stories written by Calgary writers.

The Library has partnered with Loft 112 to solicit stories from local writers, which provide the content for the dispenser and we will add new stories throughout the year

It is located adjacent to Lukes Café, inside the Central Library, Level 1. Readers have the option to choose a 1, 3, or 5 minute story simply by pressing a button and within moments an original short story is printed on a piece of thick paper about the size of a long receipt. The dispenser uses heavier paper to encourage people to keep the story, instead of throwing it away. In cases where readers don’t want to keep the story, Loft 112 is investigating whether they can be redistributed to organizations in East Village (or if you have an idea, please contact me: loftonetwelve@gmail.com)

We encourage you to take a trip to the Calgary's Central library, sit and enjoy a short story while having a drink or snack.

Here's a one minute story by Clem Martini for you to enjoy!
