Art shows are like buses, I've discovered... you wait for ages and then they all come along at once! After my exhibition at Queens Park Arts Centre in Aylesbury in April and May, I've been showing at Mentmore, Leighton Buzzard and now Rowsham as part of Bucks Art Weeks - catch me there until Sunday 25th. Read on to see what's been happening, what's coming up and see this month's special offers... |

I've been working mostly on private commissions this month so I can't share those with you yet. But here are a couple of other new pieces... This portrait is part of a short series in black and white. The long, narrow canvas shape and flat black background draws all our attention to the face and what it has to say to us. I really enjoyed the long brushstrokes for her hair and the different textures of her jumper, face and hair. It’s currently on show at Rowsham for Bucks Art Weeks; please message me if you’re interested, or if you want a picture like this of someone you know! Woman with long hair, oil on canvas, 100x50 cm or 40x20 inches, 2023. Price £175. |

This portrait is another in my series in black and white on long, narrow canvases. I really enjoyed the different textures of skin, fabric and beard, and the way the light falls and bounces... Is he regarding the viewer with disappointment? Pity? Pride? It’s up to you to decipher! Again, please message me if you’re interested or if you'd like a picture like this of someone you know. Man with turban, oil on canvas, 100x50 cm or 40x20 inches, 2023. Price £175. |

See me with the fabulous Rowsham Creatives |
|
|
Bucks Art Weeks is an amazing opportunity to see art being made - hundreds of artists in dozens of venues are showing their work and are happy to see you for a chat about their processes and practice. I'm really delighted to be part of the Rowsham Creatives group - some fantastically talented artists working across design, furniture, printmaking, illustration, glass and oil painting. We're at Manor Farm Courtyard in Rowsham - between Wing and Aylesbury, and close to the National Trust's Ascott House and Wingrave Open Gardens if you want to combine a trip for a day out! Come and see us between 10am and 5.30pm from now until Sunday 25th June - you can see details here. |

These two pieces have a new home this month. The portrait was chosen as the poster for my recent exhibition, so she feels like a friend now. And I love cricket, and I'm very excited and nervous about the Ashes that are underway this summer! Most of my paintings are also available as prints and greetings cards if you missed out on the originals - see more about my cards and prints here! |

I'm still working on some private commissions... watch this space to see them when they're ready. After that, I'll be back to a new series of work - I'm lucky enough to have another show in the autumn so I'll be making some pieces for that. Thank you for your support! Please see my website or contact me if you'd like to know more or come and visit my studio! |
