Pine Island Food Pantry is now collecting donations of seasonal meal fixings to provide our clients with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Most needed items include:
· Canned green beans
· Canned corn
· Chicken Broth
· Cream soup
· Cranberry sauce
· Gravy – can, pouch or bottle
· Stuffing
· Mashed Potatoes – pouch or box
· Canned Yams
· Olives/Pickles
· Box muffin or bread mix
· Box dessert mix
Personal Care products, such as toilet paper, bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste, razors and laundry detergent, are also welcome as these items are always in high demand.
Please bring your donations to an upcoming meeting. No need to mark or bag your donations in a particular way as the pantry volunteers will assemble the holiday bags for distribution. Or if not attending a Hooker meeting in person, donations can be dropped off at the following locations: Winn-Dixie, V.F.W., American Legion, Moose, Elks, Stonegate Bank, Matlacha Post Office or the Pine Island Food Pantry at OLMM church. Visit pineislandfoodpantry.org to learn more.
The pantry is accepting new clients, so if you know of anyone on the island who needs food now or for the holidays, please encourage them to stop by during their open hours, Monday and Thursday, 8:30- 10:30 am at OLMM, 12175 Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia. Pre registration for holiday meals will be in October.
Thank you for ensuring everyone on the island has joyous celebrations this year!
