We made our way to Grandma's service last weekend - - - our first road trip since lockdown. Traveling felt weird. At each pit stop we encountered signage all over the doors re: social distancing and face masks. A variety of plexiglas barriers greeted us at checkouts. Fellow travelers demonstrated a wide range of cautious and carefree attitudes. Our masked family focused on the essential transactions and didn't linger, passing around the hand sanitizer in a way that's becoming routine.

Hotels have made their modifications also. Lobbies have been stripped of comfy furniture to dissuade lounging and gathering. Breakfast buffets have transformed into pay & pick-up. Although many restaurants have opened up for dine-in, we opted for carry out and were thankful for good weather to manage all the transitions easily.

Strange times indeed, but we made it.

I'm grateful for the restrictions being lifted just in time for Grandma to have the first service.

Grandma's Legacy - - - One Stitch at a Time

We always went in the backdoor at Grandma's. So it was fitting that we gathered in her backyard last weekend, saying our goodbyes and sharing sweet memories in her space.

Journey Home...

It's hard to believe we're nearing the end of May and winding down our 31 Days of Faith series. Please share your pages on the website comments or in the FB group. I love to see the variety you all create!

Month-by-Month Bible Quilt journal

Ready for summer?

It's hard to believe June is almost upon us, which means Father's Day will be here soon. I've got the "Men for Christ" template tucked into the June section of the Monthly Bible Quilt Journal. Praying for the men in our lives is important, so I thought Strength would be a good theme for the month.

Raini, a sweet Bible Quilter in Texas, has gathered up a wonderful collection of verses for us:

Here's a summary of how I'm getting started on my #30daysofstrength pages:

Strength for Today

I'm using the 30-day template to compile my verses on strength. Use code FRIEND15 to get 15% off of this 2-page set if you'd like to follow along with us!

We're also approaching the end of our ABCs of the Bible series. Here's a peek at my  "U" page in the ABC Bible Quilt journal. I did the whole page on "understanding" since I had found so many verses. I'll have more of a hodgepodge of "u" verses on the back side of the page. How is yours going?

Thanks, Fran, for sharing your pages in the comments section of the ABC boards! That makes a wonderful resource for everyone when they're hunting for verse ideas for each letter. You're all welcome to scroll through "E is for..." as an example of these great references we're building together.

As we wind down May and enter the summer season, I hope your family is finding some ways to venture into this "re-opening" world with peace and confidence. May we all be understanding of other's people's different views and approaches to social distancing and reintegrating some "typical" summer activities back into our routines.
