Hello to you who adore the risen Savior!
Happy Resurrection Day on April 21st!
We hope this finds you filled with the hope and excitement we share with you in our risen Lord. We just got finished with an 18-week long Bible study on Mark. And of course, it ends with Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and ascension. We didn’t plan it, but what a timely ending for this study, so close to the celebration of the hope of new life! We are so grateful…We have a Lord that loves us so much that he willingly died that tortuous death….but, Hallelujah death couldn’t hold Him! And neither will it hold us. Do you realize that the same POWER that raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also raise our immortal bodies one day? The promise of new life in Christ is real; not only for when we die, but also for us here while we are still on earth. We are new creatures after we are born again! And that only comes through faith in the gospel message: “…That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 That is the power of God unto salvation!!
And speaking of new life, we brought a woman into the Foley jail with us last week who had been in addiction for 35 years. She was 52 years old and gave such a powerful testimony! She had had 6 children and had abandoned them all. Her turn around came when 1 of her daughters, who had a beautiful family, abandoned them just like she did. That was the beginning of her end. She finally realized after all that time that when she had left them, she thought that that was the best thing for them, but no…When she saw what her daughter was doing, that she was becoming just like her, that was her undoing. She knew then that what they had needed was her. And that broke her…We did 2 services that night and all the men and women that were there stood up together and prayed the sinner’s prayer out loud with each other. It was a beautiful night.
In a couple of weeks we will be headed again to Dixon Prison in Louisiana for the weekend of the 13-14th. We are going to bring a message of love and torture and hope. Please be praying for a powerful anointing of God’s Spirit to move within that place. We always feel His presence there and we can’t wait to see Him move! May God be with you all in this most special time of year!
Our Savior is alive! Love, Ken and Cindy
