|
By: Natalie Jacobsen, & edited by Max Hare Welcome to the first Newsletter! I am so thankful you took the time to subscribe and open this email. I, Natalie, will take the lead on the content, but you'll hear from Max every so often. We are excited to share some joint content here, too. Initially these will be sent out monthly, but may increase in frequency as time goes on. Thanks! Best viewed on your Desktop. |

Publishing a book has brought funny interactions with family, friends, and complete strangers. Each newsletter, I'll share one with you—for levity. Recently, someone who I hadn't spoken to in over a year messaged me: "Hi! How are the book sales going?" My book isn't even ready for pre-order. |

FOLKLORE FRIDAY: Every Friday, I introduce a character from Japanese folklore at my blog and on social media. If you don't follow me on Threads, you have some reading to do!

Max & Nat's Nit-Picks: Each Newsletter we will feature a commonly misused word or expression and share its appropriate use. These words and expressions are inspired by real-life encounters we have had and that haunt us.
"On days where..." should be: "On days when..." Since "days" refers to a period of time, the appropriate adverb in this situation would be "when," which indicates the action occurring in that time, as opposed to "where," which indicates place that the action is occurring. For instance: "On days when work stresses us out, we drink chamomile-sleepy-time-bear tea* to unwind." *Not sponsored, we just really enjoy it. Disclaimer: Please excuse any typos, misspellings, or grammatical errors; we understand that we avail ourselves to Muphry's Law when we nit-pick. |
