I hope your days are filled with endless sunshine, the tease of a summer breeze, and the company of the ones you love. I once heard a comedian refer to their anxiety as a terrible detective that always comes to the wrong conclusions. I laughed so much at this because it holds so much truth for me. My brain will look at the facts of a situation and immediately go to the most outrageous, erroneous deduction, to which my terrible detective head is like, “Yes, this is amazeballs and absolutely spot on.” *high fives itself* Why is anxiety the most inaccurate gauge for life's continuous waves, yet it remains that constant companion, always there, filling our minds with endless chatter and sleepless nights? I wish I had an answer for you, but instead, may I be that gentle reminder that you are safe—you will be okay. Don't let that lousy detective bully your mind. You got this. Take a minute to tell yourself an affirmation in the mirror each morning. Start a bullet point list and write all the good that has happened daily. Most importantly, be kind to yourself. All four classes were terrific. It was so much fun to decorate a set, as well as teach classes on how to expand their businesses by incorporating decorating classes in their own bakeries. It was also a massive honor to be one of the panel judges for the sugar art show. With three different categories, as well as, three levels of expertise, each cookie art piece was appraised with careful consideration. Y'all, it was not an easy job. There were so many extraordinary works of art, all handmade with love, patience, and skill. Thank you, Mike and Karen, for yet another successful CookieCon. It's a conference like none other, and a huge blessing to be a part of. |
