These wines come from the lovely 6 acre vineyard in Wilsonville that I long-term lease and farm.
The site- Hollow Oak Acres- is perched at 600ft in the Chehalem Mountains of the Willamette Valley. Owned by Jerry and Pam Drake and it has been a huge boon to farm these last 3 years. It is life-changing to be at a place where I can enact progressive farming ideas and then see them play out.
Hollow Oak is an incredible site, located on the Parrett Mountain homoline—a geologic phenomenon that creates ideal soil conditions to grow grapes organically without tilling.
In 2021, mother nature cooperated with some very much needed late spring rain. We got over an inch right before our June heat waves which - combined with excellent timing in mowing- provided a mulch cover that left the vines miraculously untouched in the heat.
The warm fall that followed allowed us to pick grapes in early September at perfect ripeness—delivering wines that have the vibrancy and brightness I’m looking for.
For this release, I’m offering three different interpretations of this lovely vineyard—as I understand the different techniques- partial stems and percentage of carbonic and learn how they impart the characteristics of this very special place.
All orders over 6 bottles will receive free shipping- and case sales get an additional 10% off.
Local (PDX+ Willamette) delivery is included on purchases of 3 bottles, as well.
